Classic Disney fairytales are full of magical moments where the princesses get a little help by a fairy godmother or three. When you visit the Disney parks you can take your little princesses to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique where they can experience their own magical transformations. But grown up princesses don’t have that option. Or do they? As it happens, there’s a set of fairy godmother’s for the grown up princesses too.
In the French Pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase there is a hidden gem that you do not want to miss. Tucked into a side street to the right of the entrance of ‘Impressions De France’ is the Givenchy store. While on the surface the store seems like the rest of the shops in Epcot, what truly makes this place unique is the extra secret service available on request: a magical makeover by your very own fairy godmother Inez Rico and her fellow makeup artists. A makeover with Inez is a magical, and gracious experience. She has the gift of making any girl feel like a princess and the ability to make them look like one as well.
We met Inez on my sister’s birthday, or more accurately Inez found us. Disney MB was trying to pick something from the store as a present from our dad and she was looking a little bit lost. Inez saw that and instead of heading home as she had planned, she decided to make a little magic. She sat my sister down and gave her a makeover any fairy tale fairy godmother would be proud of. And a birthday gift that was as magical as it was unexpected.
While getting a makeover can be a magical experience in and of itself, the real star of this experience was the lesson that went with it. With each layer, color selection, brush choice and product Inez explained what she was doing and why in a way that was easy to remember and easy to apply. I learned more in the half hour siting and listening to her than I had in years of trial and error on my own.
Inez, and the rest of her staff have a gift for bringing out the natural beauty of the girl in the chair. She teaches you how to look sophisticated and beautiful in daytime, at nighttime and you’ll leave the shop looking your best.
Inez made sure to tell us that the makeup artists (godmothers) at Epcot’s Givenchy don’t work on commission, so you can be sure that you’ll get the same magical experience weather you can afford to buy the whole stand or if you are firmly in the ‘window shopping’ budget range.
When you’re done with you’re make over you can choose to purchase the products that the make up artists used. That, with the lesson included in your makeover, not only do you leave the shop feeling like a princess you can keep on looking like your best you.
All thanks to a little pixie dust and a fairy godmother named Inez.
